Athletic Center Renovation | Saint Joseph's University

Keast & Hood provided structural engineering design and construction administration for the renovation of Saint Joseph’s University’s Maguire Athletic Center within the broader Hagan Arena athletics complex. Working with Perkins&Will, our team evaluated the existing structure and designed targeted modifications that modernize training and team spaces while maximizing the value of the existing building. Key structural work includes converting the former natatorium into an approximately 11,000 SF indoor turf training field, introducing a new training facility and MEP mezzanine within the building’s large-volume space, design of a new entry vestibule and canopy, and supporting the reconfiguration of existing court areas into dedicated men’s and women’s basketball practice facilities. We also coordinated structural support for circulation improvements and upgraded building systems, helping deliver a high-performance athletics environment within the existing footprint. The project achieved LEED® v4 for Building Design and Construction – New Construction and Major Renovation – Silver Certification. Completion: December 2024
