U. Penn Grand Reading Room receives Design Award

The Moelis Grand Reading Room at the University of Pennsylvania has received an AIA Philadelphia Design Award for its transformation from an existing periodical storage space into an iconic reading room comparable to that of the nearby Fisher Fine Arts Library, providing a quiet study space/reading room for students, faculty and researchers.

Keast & Hood wishes to congratulate Gensler and the entire project team! The firm helped support Gensler’s vision for a student space by supporting openings for new floor-to-floor partitions to separate the reading room from the surrounding spaces on the first and second (mezzanine) levels, new door framing, and design and documentation for slab penetrations for upgraded M/E/P systems.
