Two Projects Win DC Excellence in Historic Preservation Awards

Two projects on which Keast & Hood Co. teamed with KANN Partners earned awards at the ninth annual District of Columbia Awards for Excellence in Historic Preservation.

The 2012 awards were presented by Mayor Vincent C. Gray, the DC Office of Planning, Historic Preservation Office, and DC Preservation League on Thursday, 21 June. The Hubbard Place (Cavalier) Apartments earned recognition in the Affordable Housing category. The Phillips Collection earned an Honorable Mention for Design and Construction.

“We honor accomplishments in historic preservation with these awards because good preservation is good for the District of Columbia,” said Mayor Gray. “Properly done, historic preservation adds not only to our quality of life, but also to our economic well-being and long-term appeal as a beautiful, historic and well-preserved city full of aesthetic and cultural treasures.”
