Two KH Projects Honored by PA Preservation Groups

Two Keast & Hood Co. projects were honored with Pennsylvania Historic Preservation Awards. The awards were given by Preservation Pennsylvania in partnership with the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission as part of the 2008 awards program.

Christ Church in Philadelphia earned the Public/Institutional Construction Project Award for preservation, interior restoration including installation of fire protection systems, and exterior restoration to repair water damage and make the historic structure watertight. The project team included Frens and Frens LLC; Haverstick-Borthwick Company; Dmitri J. Ververelli, Inc.; and George Schaeffer.

The Union League of Philadelphia earned the Initiative Award for Stewardship. The project was recognized for preservation and exterior restoration of the original John Fraser building and the Horace Trumbauer-designed annex. The project team included DPK&A Architects, LLP; Mulhern Consulting Engineers & Associates, Inc.; International Consultants, Inc.; and Daniel J. Keating Co.
