Projects in the News

A number of KH projects have recently received recognition in both Philadelphia Magazine and the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Lucy the Elephant, a National Historic Landmark, was highlighted in the Philadelphia Inquirer’s, “‘Sand, surf, and Lucy the Elephant’: Iconic roadside attraction’s face-lift unveiled.” Keast & Hood worked under Westfield Architects & Preservation Consultants on the exterior renovation of the famous roadside attraction in Margate, NJ.

Our work on both the exterior restoration and interior renovation of the Athenaeum of Philadelphia was featured in a recent Philadelphia Magazine, “A Historic Philly Library Gets a Facelift – And Then Some.” Keast & Hood supported both the exterior restoration with Kreilick Conservation LLC and the interior renovation with Kieran Timberlake Architects.

Lastly, a small but interesting project that we worked with AOS Architects on, the moving of a historic gas station, “Historic gas station at 20th and Arch is being relocated to Fairmount Park.” We provided structural repair documents to be completed before the move, suggested bracing plans, and provided the design for the foundation at the new site for the building.
