Keast & Hood Co. Awarded GSA Schedule Contract for Professional Engineering Services

Keast & Hood Co. has been awarded a General Services Administration Schedule Contract for Professional Engineering Services (PES). This continues the firm’s long history of service to federal agency clients. Several other federal-agency projects are currently underway.

In collaboration with the General Services Administration and Ceepco Contracting LLC, Keast & Hood Co.’s Washington, DC, office was recently awarded two design-build projects as part of the White House Greening Initiative: Renovations to the historic Winder Building and Modernization of the Franklin Place Complex.

The Winder Building opened in 1848 and today houses the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative. Keast & Hood Co. is providing structural engineering services related to recommissioning the building’s mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

Jackson Place include two rowhouses built in 1860 and 1878. Located across from the White House, the National Register-listed buildings are used by the Executive Branch of the Federal Government. Keast & Hood Co. is engineering structural modifications related to MEP systems upgrades.

The Greening of the White House Initiative was launched by President Clinton in 1993 to improve the energy and environmental performance of the White House complex. The initiative is ongoing.

Additionally, Keast & Hood Co. will provide structural engineering services for three GSA projects at the E. Barrett Prettyman Federal Courthouse, HUD Headquarters Building, and Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC.
