Denise Richards and Craig Swift Join Keast & Hood Co.

Keast & Hood Co. has hired Denise L. Richards, PE, as a Project Manager in the Philadelphia, PA, office and Craig D. Swift, PE, SE, LEED® AP, as a Senior Structural Engineer in the Washington, DC, office.

Denise Richards first worked with Keast & Hood Co. from 2005-2007. Prior to rejoining the firm, she was both the senior designer and project engineer for the Moshe Safdie-designed Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, AR. Richards is a highly-organized project manager responsible for coordinating complex designs with architects and resolving field issues with contractors during construction. Her international design experience includes projects in the UK and Middle East.

Richards holds a Master of Science in Structural Engineering from the University of Illinois and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Drexel University. She is a member of the Delaware Valley Association of Structural Engineers and a registered professional engineer in Pennsylvania.

Craig Swift has extensive experience in seismic analysis, design, and retrofit; existing and historic structures; and design for blast and progressive collapse. He has designed major structures from preliminary concept through construction documentation, including developing and coordinating design teams and managing the construction administration process. Swift is experienced in REVIT Building Information Modeling software for construction documents and coordination. He has worked across the US and in Guatemala.

Swift holds a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from UCLA and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Science and Mechanics from Virginia Tech. He is a member of the DC Preservation League and Structural Engineers Association of Metropolitan Washington. He is also a licensed and trained volunteer emergency worker for the State of California.
