Daw authors feature article in Modern Steel Construction
Principal Matthew J. Daw, PE, LEED AP, co-authored a feature article in the December 2014 issue of Modern Steel Construction magazine. The article, “Rescue Mission,” describes post-earthquake repairs and renovation of the historic Sherman Building in Washington, D.C. Structural steel intervention played a crucial role in supporting the building’s fragile masonry structure and ensuring reinforcement in the event of future seismic activity. The Sherman Building renovation was a collaborative effort between The Christman Company, Quinn Evans Architects, PRESERVE/scapes, and Keast & Hood. Daw co-wrote the article with longtime Keast & Hood communication consultant, Amanda Gibney Weko.
