Working with Beyer Blinder Belle Architects and Planners, Keast & Hood is supporting the extensive Quadrangle Renovation and Restoration project at the University of Pennsylvania. The massive complex is made up of several interconnecting dormitory buildings comprised of the three College Houses and encompassing approximately 516,500 GSF. The historically significant complex is being renovated in phases with an estimated completion in 2026. The project scope of work includes an overhaul of the building systems and upgrade of their electrical switchgear, which necessitated structural intervention within the antiquated building structural systems dating back to early 1900s. The introduction of three new elevator towers will improve building circulation and accessibility. Building envelope documentation and repairs includes roof replacement, and the restoration and reinforcement of over 50 original, highly ornate chimneys throughout the complex. ..
