The 100,000-sf student center incorporates an existing historic church as a study lounge and a new steel-framed surrounding structure.

The Trabant University Center features a bookstore, offices, multi-purpose rooms, a movie theater, and dining facilities for University of Delaware students. As the home of the university’s School of Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Management, the building also houses special teaching and demonstration kitchens. Keast & Hood provided structural design for the two-story plus partial basement building, which includes structural steel framing and masonry exterior walls. The facility incorporates an existing church as a two-story study lounge for individuals and small groups.
