Serving as the Structural Engineer of Record under KCBA Architects, Keast & Hood collaborated with the client to design the new 5,900 SF building, destined to be a vibrant hub for research, training, and performances centered around mallet percussion musical instruments. The center features a glass-encased, bi-level performance center as its highlight. Structural features include custom large openings that connect and accommodate large gatherings, as well as flexible multifunctional spaces. Accentuating the exterior, a custom sunscreen frames the entryway, accompanied by terraced retaining walls and an AESS trellis frame.
