Keast & Hood Participates in Second Annual Phelps ACE High School Shadow Day
As part of Engineering Week, Keast & Hood once again hosted students from the NAF Academy of Engineering at Phelps ACE High School in Washington, DC. Project Manager, Rachel Tyler of Keast & Hood coordinated the event which is now in its second year. Phelps ACE High School students, Jada and Genesis worked with engineers, Matthew Memberg and Scott Cirmo throughout the day. Over the course of their shadowing, the students visited active construction sites, familiarized themselves with KH’s structural library, performed load calculations, and worked with technical computer programs that engineers utilize on a daily basis The event promotes a connection between academics and career and provides first hand workplace experience.
