Keast & Hood Co. Project Highlighted in GRID Magazine
Keast & Hood Co. is providing structural engineering for Lenfest Hall, a new education and residence building for the Curtis Institute of Music. Designed by architects Venturi, Scott Brown and Associates, Inc., the project is featured in the February 2010 issue of GRID Magazine.
Founded in 1924, the Curtis Institute is a full-scholarship music school located on Rittenhouse Square. Keast & Hood Co. is providing structural engineering for the new, nine-story, reinforced concrete building to contain teaching studios, performance and rehearsal spaces, student residences, and dining facilities. The project is complicated by its mid-block location and the desired retention of two historic facades that flank the new structure. LEED certification is anticipated upon project completion in 2011.
