Smeal School of Business | Pennsylvania State University

The Pennsylvania State University East Sub-Campus Development project included a new home for the Smeal College of Business Administration on an existing parking lot in the northeast part of campus.

A new parking garage, chilled water plant, and the signature building were components of the project. Structural design of the new College consisted of two L-shaped steel-framed buildings, anchored by a common four-story atrium lobby. The lobby features a three-level bridge suspended from a truss at the fourth level. The three connected bridges appear to float above the 60 foot clear span lobby space.

The facility provides six lecture halls, numerous classrooms and administrative offices, and a rooftop terrace for receptions and special events. It serves more than 5,000 students in the Mary Jean and Frank P. Smeal College of Business Administration’s graduate and undergraduate studies.
